Garcia: Wrong on ENRON

Wrong on Bailout Bill

Reckless and irresponsible Wall Street companies and executives made millions on the backs of hard-working American families, and now that they are in trouble they want the taxpayers to bail them out. Enron Joe Garcia says he supports the flawed bill that was rejected by a bipartisan majority in Congress yesterday.

"That Joe Garcia would support bailing out irresponsible and reckless companies and executives is not surprising considering his dealings with convicted Enron CEO Ken Lay. Joe Garcia even tried to get Enron's convicted CEO to get him a job in Washington. Now he has the gall to ask taxpayers to foot the bill for corporate irresponsibility. Enron Joe's has gotta go,” said campaign spokesman Carlos Curbelo.

In addition, the legislation that failed on Monday would have given the Administration a blank check to spend almost 1 trillion dollars in taxpayer money, some of which could have gone to foreign owned financial institutions. Enron Joe Garcia is again showing poor judgment and a gross disregard for taxpayer dollars.

β€œOn Thursday, Congressman Diaz-Balart will go back to Washington to fight for a good bill - putting taxpayers first,” said Curbelo.
