Solutions to High Gas Prices & Securing Our Energy Future

Hard-working Americans are suffering from high gas prices and Mario Diaz-Balart is taking action by sponsoring a bill to give families relief now. •      Introduced the CARS Act (Commuter Assistance for Suburbs, H.R. 5905) to provide a tax write-off to commuters suffering with high gas
        prices.

•      Cosponsored H.R. 632 - H-Prize Act, which passed House, to award competitive cash prizes biennially to advance the research,
        development, demonstration, and commercial application of hydrogen energy technologies.

•      Cosponsored the Green Chemistry Research and Development Act, which passed House, to promote and coordinate federal
        green chemistry research, development, education, and technology transfer activities.

•      Cosponsored the Securing America's Energy Independence Act to extend through 2016: (1) the energy tax credit for solar
        energy property and qualified fuel cell property; and (2) the tax credit for residential energy efficient property expenditures.

•      Cosponsored the BRIGHT Energy Savings Act to replace light bulbs in government buildings with high-efficiency technology.

•      Cosponsored the Energy for America Act to conduct a program of research, development, and demonstration of technologies for
        environmentally sustainable utilization of produced water for agriculture, irrigation, municipal, industrial uses, or other environmentally
        sustainable purposes.

•      Cosponsored H.R. 2927 – to raise gas mileage standards.

•      Voted for amended energy bill to raise fuel standards and establish a Renewable Fuels Standard without raising taxes.
