Enron Joe Garcia

Today Mario Diaz-Balart for Congress Campaign released a new ad titled "Enron Joe". It scratches the surface of Enron Joe Garcia's short but dismal record.

"Joe Garcia demonstrated during his tenure on the Florida Public Service Commission that he didn't care about the average household when he supported raising utility rates on Florida families. When he left the PSC, where he served as chairman, he cashed out to special interests that did business before the PSC. Then he tried to cozy up to corporate fraud poster child Enron to beg for a Bush appointment in Washington," said Carlos Curbelo, campaign spokesman.

"Every time Enron Joe Garcia had a chance to help Florida families, he only helped himself. Enron Joe's gotta go."

According to an internal Enron memo (attached), Joe Garcia actively asked Enron and personally talked with its convicted felon CEO Ken Lay about getting him a position on the Federal Electric Regulatory Commission – the same commission that would regulate Enron, the corporation which defrauded its workers and millions of investors in one of the greatest corporate collapses in American history.
